    Methodology
    The 2017 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2013 to 2016. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2013. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent-not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies-as of December 31, 2016. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2013 is $100,000; the minimum for 2016 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.

    Gainsight Announces New Additions to Board of Advisors

These two transformative leaders will each lend their expertise in demand generation, product marketing, marketing operations and other growth-oriented marketing disciplines to push Gainsight closer to its ambition as it seeks to build and scale the Customer Success industry and software category.

    Chandar Pattabhiram currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Coupa Software. Prior to joining Coupa, Pattabhiram recently was CMO at Marketo where he was in charge of positioning Marketo as the digital marketing industry's innovation leader. Previously, Pattabhiram was head of worldwide marketing for Badgeville and vice president of product and channel marketing at IBM Cast Iron Systems. Pattabhiram also spent years at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as an advisor to Fortune 500 companies. In 2017, LinkedIn named Pattabhiram as one of the top 5 CMOs to follow for thought-leadership in digital marketing.
