      Hi!

      09-15-04 12:49 PM EST
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Dow Jones)--The U.K. government will allow police forces in England and Wales to use Taser International Inc.`s (TASR) M26 stun weapons, following successful limited trials.

In a press release Wednesday, the maker of stun devices largely for the law enforcement and corrections market said the trials showed the risk of death from the weapons was very low.

Other than the U.S., Taser said Canada is the only other country that had allowed full deployment of Taser`s stun devices in law enforcement. Taser currently sells the devices to police forces in several countries, but on a limited basis.

With England emerging as a new market for Taser`s stun products, other countries may follow suit.

The spokesman said potential full approvals to authorize police use of the devices in Germany, France, New Zealand and Australia were hinging on results from the U.K. study.

Five police forces were testing the Taser M26 weapons since April 2003 as authorities evaluated medical and safety concerns, as well as its use as a supplemental option to other restraint devices such as dogs or pepper spray.

The Taser spokesman said it doesn`t have an estimate of how much potential revenue the approval could generate because orders from other British police forces weren`t being solicited.

Bin gerade wieder raus.

      @DeltaComet,

Na, dann guck dir UGHO mal genauer an !

Da hast du doch noch was übersehen !

Universal Guardian Corporation (UG), is positioned to be a key player in the Defense and Homeland Security markets worldwide. UG provides Security Assessments, Risk Analysis, and Advanced Security Solutions to military, government and commercial markets on a global basis. The Company is currently providing its products and services to the United States military to protect its most important assets around the world. The Company offers its customers a wide range of innovative security solutions combining cost effectiveness and ease of integration through its five strategic corporate divisions: Security Assessment and Tactics Group, Maritime Security Group, Non-Maritime Security Group, Special Weapons Group, and Security Technologies and Engineering Group. UG is rapidly penetrating the expanding threat mitigation, anti-terrorism and critical infrastructure protection markets and has already established itself as a premier provider of anti-terrorism, threat analysis services and security solutions to the U.S. Navy.

UG acquired public status via a share exchange agreement with an existing public entity late Q42002 and trades on the NASDAQ OTC:BB under the symbol UGHO. There are currently 15,166,670 shares outstanding. Company principals own approximately 80% of all outstanding corporate shares. The Company is presently pursuing a Series A Preferred Share offering. The use of funds includes: research and development, establishment of credit facilities, sales and marketing and general working capital.

      Market Overview

The recent terrorist attacks against the USS Cole, the Pentagon and the World Trade Center made apparent vast vulnerabilities in the methods and systems used to protect homeland assets and assets abroad. The need to detect, accurately identify and mitigate security risks requires immediate and effective security solutions. UG’s comprehensive suite of proprietary and patented anti-terrorism, law enforcement military force protection and security solutions provide the United States and other governments with the tools necessary to significantly deter critical infrastructure security risks.

Presidential Decision Directive (PDD63) directs the United States Congress and other Federal agencies to fund Critical Infrastructure Protection and Counter Terrorism, Anti-Terrorism and Force protection to oversee the nation’s assets.

Alongside PDD63, the newly formed Homeland Security office has focused priorities towards security concerns and subsequently provided an increased budget allocated for Military, Federal and State security purchases. With the availability of these substantially increased funds, the National Command Authority and related organizations are looking for immediate providers of comprehensive, integrated security solutions.

To ensure that UG methodologies and technologies are consistent with present and near term Governmental needs, Company executive and Board members have conducted several meetings with senior Pentagon, White House and Homeland Security principals, resulting in the unanimous response that UG indeed has those much needed solutions and the team to professionally and strategically deploy them.

      The Universal Guardian Technology Advantage

UG technologies provide unparalleled surveillance, detection and response capabilities for a variety of security applications. The company`s C2 Command and Control systems integrate data streams from multiple sources, addressing U.S. government requirements for an interoperable, integrated and synchronous detection and response platform. These intelligent systems allow large volumes of data to be concurrently analyzed with little human intervention and feature intuitive user environments that provide automatic threat notification and recommended response solutions. Furthermore, it allows operators, commanders, and intelligence officials around the world to securely collaborate in real-time using satellite linked, web-based Geo-SpatialTM multi-dimensional visualization technologies.

UG Command and Control systems are being purchased by the U.S. Navy to secure and protect critical assets in United States and around the world.

      Strategic and Tactical Security Group

The Strategic and Tactical Security Group conducts Security Assessment and Vulnerability Evaluations (SAVE) that provide customers with complete security solutions tailored to match their individual environmental and budgetary requirements. Conducted by career anti-terrorism and security experts, the proprietary "SAVE" process identifies and mitigates areas of vulnerability and recommends appropriate solutions for immediate and follow-on security improvements.

UG`s SAVE process is complemented by a proprietary software package (validated by U.S. Government security agencies) that ensures rapid and accurate report generation. Each customer receives a Security Improvement Baseline Report and a comprehensive Executive Security Report, both of which meet stringent government reporting standards.

The SAVE process also provides a program plan for ongoing systems diagnostics, cyber security, network security, information warfare and corporate profiling. This ensures the long-term safety of the information and physical assets within an organization, and effectively positions UG as the ideal provider of follow on security services and technology solutions.

The Strategic and Tactical Security Group provides another critical and unique service: the Aggressor Intrusion Survey. Utilizing the extensive experience of former Navy SEAL and SWAT professionals, the goal of the Aggressor Intrusion Survey is to test existing security measures by physically penetrating them. Once existing security measures have been stress-tested, vulnerabilities are identified and necessary improvements are recommended. Arguably, no other company is better suited to understand the impact and application of technology on counter terrorism than UG.

The Strategic and Tactical Security Group`s first-hand anti-terrorist expertise provides UG with distinct competitive advantages, and allows the company`s solutions and technologies to be field tested in the real world. This exhaustive "real life" testing provides unique insight into how the company`s products will perform outside of laboratory simulations.

      Maritime Security Group

Universal Guardian`s Maritime Security Group provides integrated maritime security systems, products and services. The Company`s wholly owned subsidiary, The Harbour Group, Inc., currently markets, installs, and maintains UG Waterside Security Systems™, UG Unmanned Underwater Vehicles, and Anti-swimmer systems. The Harbour Group is currently installing and maintaining port and harbor security systems that protect the U.S. Navy`s most critical assets around the world. The Harbor Group and its UG Waterside Security System™ are major components of the Navy`s Critical Infrastructure Protection program. NATO countries have now begun to express significant interest in UG’s waterside security system as the U.S Navy begins installations abroad.

Designed as the centerpiece for surveillance and security operations, the Universal Guardian Waterside Security System™ fuses inputs from a variety of sensors, including video, SONAR, RADAR, thermal imagers, and others. These signals are analyzed and displayed on a large flat screen console, providing the system operator with the best available information.

The Harbour Group`s position as the Navy`s preferred vendor for waterside security solutions has produced approximately $20 million in contracts to secure the first eight U.S. Navy harbor installations. The U.S. Navy program plan calls for UG Harbour Group to equip eight (8) additional harbors resulting in an estimated $15 - $18 million in additional revenues, positioning the Harbour Group as the clear leader in harbor and port surveillance, detection and response technologies. In addition, the U.S. Coast Guard is considering UG`s Waterside Security Systems to protect its most valuable assets.

      Technology Group

The Universal Guardian Technology Group provides security hardware, software and systems. Included are advanced command and control systems such as UG Waterside Security System™ and UG Mobile C2 Vehicles. The UG Technology Group also provides integration, installation and maintenance of these systems worldwide.

Universal Guardian C2 Security Systems provide advanced surveillance, detection, command, control, and communications capabilities. The primary function of these systems is the rapid delivery of critical information to key decision makers for analysis and response.

The system also incorporates advanced capabilities for pattern recognition and threat detection. When a possible threat is detected, the system will alert security personnel at multiple locations, eliminating single points of failure. According to a senior National Security Counsel (NSC) official, this system is positioned to play an integral role in the White House`s NSC Intelligence System.

      Special Weapons Group

Universal Guardian`s Special Weapons Group provides weapons platforms that are designed to meet existing and future military and law enforcement use of force requirements. The Special Weapons Group provides military and law enforcement commanders with a variety of offensive and defensive options to address appropriate threat conditions.

Professional and consumer markets are increasingly demanding more effective methods to defuse civil unrest and subdue criminals without causing permanent injury to law enforcement personnel, innocent bystanders, or criminals. With 4.9 million police officers worldwide (over 900,000 in the United States alone as of 1999), the potential market for less lethal and non-lethal products is large and well defined.

The utilization of less lethal and non-lethal weapons can help prevent the escalation of minor disturbances into full-blown riots; reducing deaths, damage, and conflict. Non-lethal weapons enhance military capabilities by enabling the application of proportionate, appropriate force. This tactical flexibility ensures that the delicate balance between mission accomplishment, force protection, public opinion, and proper response remains stable. The Company will leverage its professional use credibility by military and law enforcement organizations to develop commercial and consumer non-lethal markets.

UG develops and markets Special Operations weapons and complimentary products designed for use in environments where mobility, accuracy, and dependability are paramount. These weapons are marketed and sold to organizations such as U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) by Universal Guardian`s team of experienced Special Operations professionals.

      Management

The Company’s Management, Boards of Directors and Advisors have extensive command and leadership experience in military, law enforcement, advanced technologies, international business practices and White House administration. Senior Management also has special operations, counter terrorism, weaponry and security technology experience.

Management and Board members have held positions of Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officers in the private sector, as well as Military and law enforcement assignments including: Vice Admiral and Director of the U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Intelligence, Rear Admiral and Commander of U.S. Naval Special Warfare (SEALs and Special Boat Units), Major General and Director of U.S. Air Force Intelligence, Commander of Atlantic Special Operations Command, Chief of Police, Navy Seal Commanding Officer, SWAT Commander, Command Pilot, Law Enforcement Captain, Navy Captain, FBI Instructor and Chemical Agents Instructor.

It’s the Management’s firm belief that their long-standing relationships with high-level officials in the military and government and national law enforcement agencies will promote the rapid adoption of the Company’s products and services.

Und schon die nächste gute Nachricht:

WASHINGTON Nov 8, 2004 — Korean Air is the first airline granted permission by the federal government to carry electric stun guns aboard jetliners that fly within U.S. airspace.

The Transportation Security Administration last week approved Korean Air`s request to carry "Tasers," agency spokesman Mark Hatfield said Monday. The weapon, made by Taser International Inc., gives off a jolt of electricity that incapacitates the victim.

Korean Air has been using Tasers on flights outside the United States for several years, airline spokeswoman Penny Pfaelzer said.

The airline has 50 flights a week to the United States.

Hatfield said Korean Air was the only airline so far to submit an application to use Tasers.

Taser International Inc.`s stock price on the Nasdaq exchange jumped on the news by more than 20 percent, or $9.67, to $56.16.

In recent months, the company has secured big orders from the Army National Guard and major U.S. police departments. Tasers also were approved in September by police forces throughout England and Wales.

Pilots on U.S. airlines are allowed to carry handguns if they undergo special training. Thousands have done so, although the exact number is classified.

USA Today first reported that Korean Air was given permission to use Tasers.

It`s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and a very merry Christmas indeed.

With a huge number of Google shares to be freed for sale in coming weeks,
"more and more people will come to play the newest highflyer on the Nasdaq a la Taser

Avoid Laggard Breakouts And Favor 2nd Buys
      BY JONAH KERI

      INVESTOR`S BUSINESS DAILY

The market`s three-month rally picked up steam last week, as the Nasdaq surged another 2.3%. But while the gains continued, smart investors had already started altering their buying strategy.

At the start of a new rally, the best stocks blast out of well-formed bases in heavy volume. The ones with the biggest upside tend to be first- and second-stage bases, still in the early stages of their run-up.

But as a rally matures, the tenor of breakouts starts to change. Stocks that haven`t broken out yet are now lagging their more powerful peers by several months. Since one of the cardinal rules of successful investing is to buy leaders, not laggards, it doesn`t make sense to pursue stocks still stuck in neutral.

With that in mind, we direct your attention to stocks forming second-stage bases, as well as those pulling back to provide follow-on buy opportunities. Some of the most powerful stocks on the IBD 100 have flashed this kind of action.

Online travel services provider Travelzoo (TZOO) had already forged a big run-up when it dropped into a new pattern in late September. That fresh consolidation lasted just over five weeks, making it a tough place at which to take a new position. But those who held Travelzoo on the way up could have added shares successfully Nov. 1.

Less-lethal weapon maker Taser International (TASR) also formed an atypical pattern. But its big moves Nov. 4 and Nov. 8 offered fresh buy opportunities for investors looking to nab the leading stock.

Several stocks have formed similar patterns lately, offering follow-up buy chances. Keep an eye on Amex-traded flak jacket maker DHB Industries. (DHB) After a breakaway gap Nov. 4, the stock has pulled back and may be forming a second handle.

Meanwhile homebuilder Meritage (MTH) may be forming a three-weeks-tight pattern after its huge breakout on Oct. 26.

      Taser aufkaufen will.

Aside from all the noise on this board try to hype other competitors, TASR has the characteristic of a BIG BULL in every aspects. Sales, Contracts, Valuations, Historically earnings. What it has done in the past 2 weeks has been three steps forward and one step back for consolidations of the shorts. Life can not get any better for this Company. It is going internationally on four corner of the Globe in the next few quarters. I have miss many opportunities like Microsoft, Jabil Circuit, Ebay, Google, Yahoo, Amazon, and Qualcom. This will be the news for the investment community in the next few years. Wait and you`ll see!!!

What`s Next for This $200 Stock?

      By Roger Nusbaum
      November 15, 2004

This is yet another article about that one stock trading around $200 per share that was a fairly recent IPO. The price has gone up so fast that I find myself mesmerized by the way it trades. I am, of course, talking about Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings (NYSE: CME). Were you expecting some other stock?

Actually, Chicago Merc is not that recent of an IPO; it debuted in December 2002 at about $43 per share and has almost quintupled to $209. Wow!

I was quite proud of myself when I bought it at $48 and got stopped out at $84 in the summer of 2003. Er, uhm, I only left 125 points on the table. I wildly underestimated the stock`s potential: my loss.

In trying to pick apart the numbers, most Fools should like the 30% return on equity, the 27% profit margin, and a history of excellent earnings growth. But -- and you knew there was a but or two coming -- Chicago Merc trades at nine times its book value and 10 times sales, and the PEG ratio is above two.

It is logical to think that a stock that has gone up so much would have very high valuations. So what to do now? I believe the reason the stock has done so well is because there has been more demand among professional investors for the type of derivative products traded on the Merc. Hedge funds are one source of order flow, and some reports have hedge fund assets at almost $1 trillion and growing. Another source of demand is from retail brokerage firms, as more products are created to offer clients alternative investments such as managed futures.

One simple way to think about buying a stock is to try to gauge the demand for its product. I wrote about this in June regarding Taser (Nasdaq: TASR). I see a lot of parallels to the stock action between Taser and Chicago Merc, except that Taser has significantly outperformed. Both stocks have high valuations, but there is clearly demand for the product that`s easy to understand.

Even though there is demand for derivative products traded at the Merc, you should be mindful that the stock has gone parabolic. The risk is obviously high, and this type of stock is not for the faint of heart.

VectorVest Stock Analysis of TASER Int`l as of 1/4/2005

Thank you for requesting an analysis of TASER Int`l from VectorVest. The ticker symbol for TASER Int`l is TASR. TASR is traded on the NASDAQ - (xO) and options are available for this stock

      Analysis Summary
TASR is overvalued compared to its Price of $28.69 per share, has about average safety, and is currently rated a Buy.

      In-Depth Analysis
Business: TASER INTL INC, (TASR) develops, assembles and markets less-lethal, conducted energy weapons primarily for use in the law enforcement and corrections market. Its ADVANCED TASER weapon offers improved performance over other less-lethal force options.

Price: TASR closed on 1/4/2005 at $28.69 per share

Value: Value is a measure of a stock`s current worth. TASR has a current Value of $20.59 per share. Therefore, it is overvalued compared to its Price of $28.69 per share. Value is computed from forecasted earnings per share, forecasted earnings growth, profitability, interest, and inflation rates. Value increases when earnings, earnings growth rate and profitability increase, and when interest and inflation rates decrease. VectorVest advocates the purchase of undervalued stocks. At some point in time, a stock`s Price and Value always will converge.

RV (Relative Value): RV is an indicator of long-term price appreciation potential. TASR has an RV of 1.61, which is excellent on a scale of 0.00 to 2.00. This indicator is far superior to a simple comparison of Price and Value because it is computed from an analysis of projected price appreciation three years out, AAA Corporate Bond Rates, and risk. RV solves the riddle of whether it is preferable to buy High growth, High P/E stocks, or Low growth, Low P/E stocks. VectorVest favors the purchase of stocks with RV ratings above 1.00.

RS (Relative Safety): RS is an indicator of risk. TASR has an RS rating of 0.93, which is fair on a scale of 0.00 to 2.00. RS is computed from an analysis of the consistency and predictability of a company`s financial performance, debt to equity ratio, sales volume, business longevity, price volatility and other factors. A stock with an RS rating greater than 1.00 is safer and more predictable than the average stock in the VectorVest database. VectorVest favors the purchase of stocks of companies with consistent, predictable financial performance.

RT (Relative Timing): RT is a fast, smart, accurate indicator of a stock`s price trend. TASR has a Relative Timing rating of 1.16, which is good on a scale of 0.00 to 2.00. RT is computed from an analysis of the direction, magnitude, and dynamics of a stock`s price movements over one day, one week, one quarter and one year time periods. Once a stock`s price has established a strong trend, it is expected to continue in that trend for the short-term. If a trend dissipates, RT will gravitate toward 1.00. RT will explode from bottoms, dive from tops, and reflect changes in price momentum. VectorVest favors the purchase of stocks with RT ratings above 1.00.

VST (VST-Vector): VST is the master indicator for ranking every stock in the VectorVest database. TASR has a VST rating of 1.24, which is good on a scale of 0.00 to 2.00. VST is computed from the square root of a weighted sum of the squares of RV, RS, and RT. Stocks with the highest VST ratings have the best combinations of Value, Safety and Timing. These are the stocks to own for above average, long-term capital appreciation. VectorVest advocates the purchase of safe, undervalued stocks rising in price.

CI (Comfort Index): CI is an indicator which reflects a stock`s ability to resist severe and/or lengthy price declines. TASR has a CI rating of 0.67, which is poor on a scale of 0.00 to 2.00. CI is quite different from RS in that it is based solely upon a stock`s long-term price history. VectorVest advocates the purchase of high CI stocks.

GRT (Earnings Growth Rate): GRT reflects a company`s one to three year forecasted earnings growth rate in percent per year. TASR has a forecasted Earnings Growth Rate of 55.00%, which VectorVest considers to be excellent. GRT is computed from historical, current and forecasted earnings data. It is updated each week for every stock in the VectorVest database. GRT often foretells a stock`s future price trend. If a stock`s GRT trend is upward, the stock`s price will likely rise. If GRT is trending downward, the stock`s Price will probably fall. VectorVest favors the purchase of stocks whose GRT is rising and is greater than the sum of current inflation and interest rates, (9.09%).

Recommendation (REC): VectorVest gives a Buy, Sell, Hold recommendation on every stock, every day. TASR has a Buy recommendation. REC reflects the cumulative effect of all the VectorVest parameters working together. These parameters are designed to help investors buy safe, undervalued stocks rising in price. They also help investors avoid or sell risky, overvalued stocks falling in price. VectorVest recommends that investors buy high VST-Vector, Buy-rated stocks in rising markets.

Stop (Stop-Price): Stop is an indicator of when to sell a long position or cover a short position. TASR has a Stop of $25.75 per share. This is $2.94 below TASR`s current closing Price. A stock`s Stop is computed from a 13 week moving average of its closing prices, and is fine-tuned according to the stock`s fundamentals. High RV, high RS stocks have lower Stops, and low RV, low RS stocks have higher Stops. In the VectorVest system, a stock gets a `B` or `H` recommendation if its Price is above its Stop and an `S` recommendation if its Price is below its Stop.

EPS (Earnings per Share): EPS stands for leading 12 months Earnings Per Share. TASR has a forecasted EPS of $0.48 per share. VectorVest determines this forecast from a combination of recent earnings performance and traditional fiscal and/or calendar year earnings forecasts.

P/E (Price to Earnings Ratio): P/E is a popular measure of stock valuation which shows the dollars required to buy one dollar of earnings. TASR has a P/E of 59.77. This ratio may be deemed to be high or low depending upon your frame of reference. The average P/E of all the stocks in the VectorVest database is 26.50. P/E is computed daily using the formula: P/E = Price/EPS.

EY (Earnings Yield): EY reflects earnings per share as a percent of Price. EY is related to P/E via the formula, EY = 100 / (P/E), and may be used in place of P/E as a measure of valuation. EY has the advantages that it is always determinate and can reflect negative earnings. TASR has an EY of 1.67 percent. This is below the current average of 3.76% for all the stocks in the VectorVest database. EY equals 100 x (EPS/Price).

GPE (Growth to P/E Ratio): GPE is another popular measure of stock valuation. It compares earnings growth rate to P/E ratio. TASR has a GPE rating of 0.92. High growth stocks are believed to be able to justify high P/E ratios. A stock is commonly considered to be undervalued when GPE is greater than 1.00 and overvalued when GPE is below 1.00. Unfortunately, this rule of thumb does not take into account the effect of interest rates on P/E ratios. The operative GPE ratio of 1.00 is valid when and only when interest rates equal 10%. With long-term interest rates currently at 5.59%, the operative GPE ratio is 0.31. Therefore, TASR may be considered to be undervalued.

DIV (Dividend): VectorVest reports annual, regular, cash dividends as indicated by the most recent payments. Special distributions, one-time payments, stock dividends, etc., are not generally included in DIV. TASR does not pay a dividend.

DY (Dividend Yield): DY reflects earnings per share as a percent of Price. TASR does not pay a dividend, so it does not have a Dividend Yield rating. . DY equals 100 x (DIV/Price). It is useful to compare DY with EY. If DY is not significantly lower than EY, the dividend payment may be in jeopardy.

DS (Dividend Safety): DS is an indicator of the assurance that regular cash dividends will be declared and paid at current or at higher rates for the foreseeable future. TASR does not pay a dividend, so it does not have a Dividend Safety rating . Stocks with DS values above 75 typically have RS values well above 1.00 and EY levels that are much higher than DY.

DG (Dividend Growth Rate): Dividend Growth is a subtle yet important indicator of a company`s financial performance. It also provides some insight into the board`s outlook on the company`s ability to increase earnings. TASR does not pay a dividend, so it does not have a Dividend Growth rating .

YSG (YSG-Vector): YSG is an indicator which combines DIV, DY and DG into a single value, and allows direct comparison of all dividend-paying stocks in the database. Taser: SEC probing safety statements

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- Taser International shares slumped as much as 23 percent in early trade Friday, after the company said it`s cooperating in an informal U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission inquiry of its safety statements and sales to a distributor.

Shares of Taser, which makes electric "stun" guns, were last down 15.4 percent at $23.40, having earlier touched a low of $21.29.

The inquiry was disclosed by the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based maker of the weapon, which is widely used in U.S. law enforcement and military agencies.

Questions about the weapon`s safety -- and studies used to support safety claims -- were raised last fall, when the New York Times reported that a U.S. Air Force laboratory study concluded the weapons could be dangerous, and in November, after police in Florida used the device on children.

Taser (TASR: news, chart, profile) had claimed tests showed the weapon was safe to use on children.

The company`s primary weapon was designed to "shoot" a bolt of temporarily disabling electricity into a person, and allow law enforcement officials and soldiers to subdue them.

Taser also was drawn into the headlines during the short-lived nomination of former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik as President Bush`s new Secretary of Homeland Security.

Kerik withdrew as a nominee after disclosing he had briefly hired an illegal immigrant as a housekeeper and nanny. Kerik also served on Taser`s board and made a profit of some $4.4 million selling shares in November, according to media reports. Taser did business with the Homeland Security department.

"We are confident our statements are supported by the safety studies of our products," Rick Smith, Taser`s CEO, said in the company statement announcing the inquiry. "Our public statements about the safety of Taser devices are consistent with those of medical experts we have consulted, or in the case of the Department of Defense, were reviewed and approved prior to release by the very agencies that have commissioned the research."

Morgan Keegan said it`s concerned about the probe although it`s sticking with a "market perform" rating on the stock.

"We are certain that the company will share all safety studies that are currently available," said analyst Brian Ruttenbur. "However, the available data has been determined, for example by Amnesty International, to be insufficient to make a conclusive decision on the product safety in all circumstances including children, (the) elderly, and individuals with specific health conditions."

There are also concerns about Taser`s broader product offer which now includes consumer versions of its weapon.

The company is also facing the challenge of increased competition from two new entrants, Stinger Systems (STIY: news, chart, profile) and Law Enforcement Associates (LENF: news, chart, profile) which are both preparing to launch products.

Morgan Keegan is expecting Stinger Systems` new 4-dart, less lethal weapon, which is gun-powder based, to offer real competition to the Taser stun gun. The product is expected to be on sale by end January or early February with a price of under $600 per unit for the 4-dart system and $525 for the 3-dart system, said Ruttenbur.

The analyst is skeptical that Taser can reach its own forecast of 100 percent revenue growth in the next several years, although he expects growth to range from 30 to 40 percent.

"We maintain that we like the long-term prospects for Taser International and other conduct energy weapons but believe shares of Taser are fairly priced at current levels," he said.

Stinger Systems shares were last trading up 8.6 percent at $31.50, while Law Enforcement Associates was up 4.4 percent at $6.00.

      11 January 2005, 07:30am ET

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq: TASR), a market leader in advanced non-lethal devices, today announced the release of the following letter to its shareholders and customers:

Dear Shareholders and Customers of TASER International, Inc.,

Normally these letters are sent at the time of our Annual Report, however given recent events, it is important to address all of you as quickly as possible with an update on the status of your company. As you will read below, your company continues to be strong, and its management focused.

First, as we announced last week, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is conducting an informal inquiry and has asked for information about the public statements on the safety of TASER(R) products; and on information regarding our distribution agreement with Davidson`s Inc., one of our top stocking distributors. Because of the legal nature of the SEC review, we are compelled to refrain from further comment at this time. We understand these inquires may not be resolved quickly and that there is no basis upon which to set a timeline for expected completion. Rest assured, we are cooperating with the inquiry by providing the SEC with information and continue to stand firmly behind our actions.

Second, we have received questions indicating there is confusion on the issue of insider stock sales in the fourth quarter. Phil Smith, our Chairman who retired from day to day duties on December 31, 2004 sold the majority of his TASER stock as part of his retirement transition. Tom Smith and Rick Smith, co-founders of the company and whom currently serve as President and CEO, also sold a portion of their position in order to diversify their holdings. During the fourth quarter of 2004, Tom and Rick sold an average of 22% of their position in TASER including both their stock and vested and unvested options. We still retain a significant position in TASER International, which at year-end comprised a significant majority of our personal assets. Hence, we feel that the rumors about us "bailing out" are not fair, nor accurate. We have pointed out previously that the Smith family along with one other investor provided all of the startup capital to TASER International prior to its public offering, and we have held this investment for up to eleven years. We have historically sold stock and have been straight-forward with our investors that insiders would continue to diversify through continuing stock sales in the future.

In retrospect, 2004 was an amazing year for TASER International. At the beginning of the year, we projected top-line revenue growth of 100%. This was later raised to 150%, and later raised again. Further, the company was able to sustain this level of growth while generating strong cash flow.

("TASER") (NASDAQ:TASR) common stock during the period between November 4, 2004 and January 6, 2005 (the "Class Period").

If you wish to serve as lead plaintiff, you must move the Court no later than 60 days from today. If you wish to discuss this action or have any questions concerning this notice or your rights or interests, please contact plaintiff`s counsel, Samuel H. Rudman or David A. Any member of the purported class may move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff through counsel of their choice, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class member.

The complaint charges TASER and certain of its officers and directors with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. TASER purports to provide advanced non-lethal devices for use in the law enforcement, military, private security and personal defense markets.

The complaint alleges that, throughout the Class Period, defendants issued numerous statements concerning the: (i) increasing demand for the Company`s Taser devices; and (ii) the positive results of studies that were conducted regarding the safety of the Company`s products. As alleged in the complaint, these statements were materially false and misleading because they failed to disclose: (i) that, contrary to defendants` representations, the studies conducted on the Company`s Taser devices were inconclusive as to the safety of the devices; (ii) that the Company`s revenues and earnings would be negatively impacted once the truth of these studies became known; (iii) that the "last minute" order of Taser devices the Company had received from one of its distributors was done to help the Company meet its sales goals for the quarter and was not indicative of the true demand for the Company`s products; and (iv) based on the foregoing, defendants had no reasonable basis for their positive statements regarding the safety of, and demand for, the Company`s products.

On January 6, 2005, after the close of the market, defendants disclosed that they were in receipt of an informal inquiry letter from the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding the Company`s statements about the safety of its products and a recent order received from one of its distributors. Market reaction to this announcement was swift and severe. On January 7, 2005, shares of TASER common stock closed at $22.72 per share, a decline of $4.90 per share, or 18%, from the previous day`s close.

Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of all purchasers of TASER common stock during the Class Period (the "Class"). The plaintiff is represented by Lerach Coughlin, which has expertise in prosecuting investor class actions and extensive experience in actions involving financial fraud.

Lerach Coughlin, a 140-lawyer firm with offices in San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Boca Raton, Washington, D.C., Houston, Philadelphia and Seattle, is active in major litigations pending in federal and state courts throughout the United States and has taken a leading role in many important actions on behalf of defrauded investors, consumers, and companies, as well as victims of human rights violations. Der Todeskuss

      11 January 2005, 3:04pm ET

By ELLEN SIMON AP Business Writer
NEW YORK (AP) -- Taser International Inc., the stun-gun maker whose safety claims are being probed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, issued a letter Tuesday defending $105.8 million in stock sales last year by the family that has run the business.

A review of company filings with the SEC also shows that Taser paid $205,509 last year to lease airplanes owned by the family and that it has a 15-year lease to pay $1,556 a month for use of another plane, a Cessna 414, owned by family member Thomas Smith, the company`s president.

Such arrangements are rare in the business world.

"If the company has an honest-to-goodness need for a plane, there`s a very liquid commercial market," said David Yermack, a finance professor at New York University`s Stern School of Business. "There`s no need to lease it from executives. It compromises the independence and objectivity of everyone involved."

In a letter to shareholders Tuesday defending the Smiths` stock sales, Taser also said that it may see delays in orders as law enforcement agencies test and evaluate stun guns made by competitors.

Taser`s shares dropped $5.05, down 25 percent, in early afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market to hit $15, down from a year-high price of $33.45 on Dec. 30.

In one week in November following an announcement that Taser stun guns had been approved by the federal government for use on domestic flights, three family members sold shares worth $54.6 million.

Their sales came at the end of a banner year for Taser, with revenues from sales to law enforcement, corrections and other agencies growing 150 percent.

But as the company`s stock price climbed, the human rights group Amnesty International and various news organizations published reports raising questions about the safety of Taser`s stun guns.

The Arizona Republic has found 84 cases of death following a Taser strike since 1999, with 11 cases in which medical examiners said Tasers were a cause, a contributing factor or could not be ruled out in a death. Amnesty said stun guns were linked to more than 70 deaths over a four-year period and urged law enforcement agencies to suspend their use.

The so-called non-lethal weapons temporarily paralyze people with a 50,000-volt jolt delivered by two barbed darts whose current can penetrate clothing. Tasers have a range of up to 21 feet and can also shock on contact, like a cattle prod.

The nation`s leading stun gun company said in its June quarterly report that it does not believe there is a "causal link between the use of a Taser device and a death of a suspect other than the general stress of the physical exertion during Taser stimulation, which is similar to athletic type exertions and is comparable to or less than the stress of other available physical restraint procedures."

Ballon Stoll Bader & Nadler, P.C., Announces a Class Action against TASER International, Inc. -- TASR
Monday January 24, 2:32 pm ET

NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The law firm of Ballon Stoll Bader & Nadler, P.C. announces that a class action lawsuit was filed January 21, 2005, on behalf of all persons who purchased the common stock of TASER International, Inc. (``Taser`` or the ``Company``) (NasdaqNM:TASR - News) during the period of time from January 7, 2005, through and including January 14, 2005 (the ``Class Period``), pursuing remedies under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the ``Exchange Act``). A copy of the complaint filed in this action is available from the Court, or will be available to be viewed on Ballon Stoll`s website at: http://www.ballonstoll.com.

The action is pending before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York against defendants TASER International, Inc., Dr. Phillips W. Smith (Chairman), Patrick W. Smith (C.E.O. and Director), Thomas P. Smith (President and Director), and Daniel Behrendt (C.F.O.). According to the complaint, defendants violated sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Exchange Act, and Rule 10b-5, by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market during the Class Period.

The complaint alleges that defendants made statements during the class period that were materially false and misleading throughout the period from October 18, 2004, through January 6, 2005. Namely, defendants claimed increasing demand for its products and touted those products` safety when, in fact, defendants knew that studies had raised reservations with regard to the safety of Taser`s products and consequently, orders of its product had been delayed. On January 6, 2005, Taser announced it had received a formal inquiry letter from the SEC regarding Taser`s claims of safety and a $1.5 million order of its products from one of the Company`s distributors. As a result of this announcement, Taser`s common stock fell by $4.90 per share (18%) to $22.72. Subsequently on January 7, 2005, defendants further announced that orders for the first half of 2005 would be delayed and that one of Taser`s distributor`s had purchased $700,000 in order to help Taser out. Thereafter, Taser`s common stock fell by an addition $5.95 (30%) to $14.10 per share. Moreover, defendants disclosed on January 8, 2005, that they had granted options to acquire Taser stock to police officials in departments which were considering and then purchased Taser products in the prior year.

If you purchased or otherwise acquired the common stock of Taser between January 7, 2005, and January 14, 2005, inclusive, and sustained damages, you may, no later than 60 days after the date of publication of this notice, request that the Court appoint you as lead plaintiff. A lead plaintiff is a representative party that acts on behalf of other class members in directing the litigation. In order to be appointed lead plaintiff, the Court must determine that the class member`s claim is typical of the claims of other class members, and that the class member will adequately represent the class. Under certain circumstances, one or more class members may together serve as ``lead plaintiff.`` Your ability to share in any recovery is not, however, affected by the decision whether or not to serve as lead plaintiff. You may retain Ballon Stoll Bader & Nadler, P.C., or other counsel of your choice, to serve as your counsel in this action.

      SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, March 25 /PRNewswire/ --
